James C Carr

James C Carr, MD, is Chair of the Department of Radiology and holds the Knight Family Professor of Cardiac Imaging and Drs. Frederick John Bradd and William Kennedy Memorial Professor of Radiology titles at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He is also a Professor at the McCormick School of Engineering.

Dr. Carr specializes in cardiovascular imaging, focusing on noninvasive diagnostics using cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), magnetic resonance angiography (MRA), and CT angiography. His work bridges radiology, medicine, and engineering disciplines.

Recent publications highlight advancements in MRI-based detection of heart transplant rejection, AI-driven cardiac function analysis, and nuclear imaging for prostate cancer staging.
