معرفی
James Beckman is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Arizona State University's Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering. His research focuses on energy-efficient desalination technologies, water reclamation, and process engineering optimization. He holds a Ph.D. (1976) from the University of Arizona and B.S./M.S. degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Research interests include dewvaporation applications in desalination, waste stream concentration, and VOC removal. His work has led to commercialized ASU patents. Beckman has over 30 years of academic experience, complemented by industry roles as a process engineer and consultant in heat/mass transfer and distillation.
He has led grants such as 'Carrier-Gas Enhanced Atmospheric-Pressure Desalination' (DOI-BOR, 1999–2002) and collaborated on large-scale projects like the SRPASU Cooperative Agreement (1993–2012). Teaching includes advanced courses in research methodologies and process engineering at both graduate and undergraduate levels.
