James B. Rossie

James B. Rossie is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Stony Brook University, where he also serves as the Director of Undergraduate Studies. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. from Yale University (2003).

• Research Focus: Evolutionary history of primates, with a specialization in hominoids.
• Key Projects: Development of phylogenetic analysis methods integrating morphological and paleobiogeographical data, fieldwork in the Miocene Ngorora Formation, Kenya.
• Teaching: Courses on Primate Evolution, Human Evolution, and Systematics & Biogeography.

Collaborations: Active fieldwork with Andrew Hill at Yale University in the Tugen Hills, Kenya. Affiliated with the Turkana Basin Institute and the Interdepartmental Doctoral Program in Anthropological Sciences.
