Jakub Hutek

Jakub Hutek is a Lecturer at the Department of Music Education, Faculty of Conducting and Choral Vocalism, Music Education, and Rhythmics, Fryderyk Chopin University of Music (UMFC). Since 2013, he has taught music pedagogy and didactic foundations while serving as conductor of the UMFC Mixed Choir. He holds multiple distinctions: a musicology graduate (UKSW, 2009), early school and preschool pedagogy graduate with inclusive therapy specialization (UKSW, 2015), and choral conducting graduate (UMFC, 2015). His career includes performances across Poland and internationally with the Warsaw Boys' Choir, participation in major festivals, and contributions to film through musical arrangements.

His research focuses on pedagogy in music education, exploring themes like musical culture, educators' competencies, and assessment methodologies. He actively integrates research into practice through choral conducting and vocal pedagogy.

Notable Achievements:

• Prepared Warsaw Boys' Choir for performances of Krzysztof Penderecki's St. Luke Passion (Salzburg 2018, London 2017) and Iannis Xenakis' Polla Ta Dhina (Warsaw Autumn 2016).
• Collaborated with film director Rafael Lewandowski, creating arrangements for Far from the Orchestra (2017).
• Composed award-winning religious works, including A Child's Prayer (2010) and We're Going to Take a Photograph (2012).

As a tenor, he performed solo parts at choral conducting graduation exams (2009–2015) and contributes to university ceremonies as conductor of the UMFC Mixed Choir.
