Jakov Munižaba is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Media and Communications (FMK), part of Singidunum University in Belgrade, Serbia. His academic and professional work focuses on sound design and its interdisciplinary applications in film, media, and the arts.
Education:
- Graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, Department of Recording and Sound Design
- Defended a doctoral art project titled 'Motion stop - reviving sound' at the same faculty
Munižaba has contributed to over 100 films, radio dramas, theatre, television, musical ensembles, and video games as a cinematographer and sound designer. He is a regular associate of the renowned electronic music studio EMS Radio Belgrade.

- 2016: Best Sound Design for the film Paradigm, March Film Festival, Belgrade
- 2012: First Place, Drama Program of Radio Belgrade, 'abstract form of radiophony'
- 2010: First Place, Ned Depolo competition for radio drama 'Night'
- 2009: Republic Foundation for Scientific and Cultural Youth Scholarship
- 2008: Second Place, Ned Depolo competition for radio drama 'Fairytale in a break before lunch'
- 2007: Annual Award, Department for Recording and Sound Design, Faculty of Dramatic Arts
His research and teaching emphasize the integration of sound into diverse media, with courses including Sound Design, Sound Editing, Music and Sound Image, and Sound in Film and Media.
