Jakob Egholt Søgaard is an Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) at the Department of Economics, University of Copenhagen, and affiliated with the Center for Economic Behavior and Inequality (CEBI). He holds a PhD in Economics (2015) and an MSc in Economics (2011) from the University of Copenhagen, with visiting studies at the London School of Economics and University of Vienna.
Research Interests
His work spans public and labor economics, focusing on taxation, labor supply, optimization frictions, and income/gender inequality. Key contributions analyze earmarked parental leave, tax reform responses, and child penalty drivers. Publications in top journals like the American Economic Review and Journal of Public Economics examine how policy shapes economic behavior.
