Jake Wood is a Lecturer and PhD candidate at the University of York, focusing on macroprudential architectures in emerging economies. His research examines how Southeast Asian nations have adapted financial policies post-COVID-19 to strengthen industrial strategies. He holds an MA in Social Research (2021-2022) and an MA in International Political Economy (2019-2020) from York, alongside a BA in Political Philosophy Ethics from the University of Brighton (2015-2018).
Jake teaches modules including 'Political Analysis' and 'Introduction to International Politics: Global Hierarchies and Global Orders'. His work combines elite interviews and econometric modeling to explore post-pandemic economic resilience. He presented research on vaccine access in Africa at the 2022 Political Studies Association Conference. Supervised by Dr. Liam Clegg and Dr. John Evemy, his PhD project critiques 'Growth Model Perspectives' to analyze policy adaptations in emerging markets.
