معرفی
Dr. Jake Bennett is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Mississippi, part of the College of Liberal Arts. His research focuses on experimental elementary particle physics, particularly precision studies of CP asymmetries in charmed baryon decays as part of the Belle II experiment in Japan. He leads the Bennett Research Group, which contributes to distributed computing and analysis at Belle II.
Education:
- B.S. Physics, Roanoke College (2008)
- M.S. Physics, Indiana University-Bloomington (2009)
- Ph.D. Physics, Indiana University-Bloomington (2014)
Research Interests: Experimental studies of CP violation, charmed baryon decays, Belle II distributed computing, and searches for physics beyond the Standard Model. His work leverages high-luminosity data to explore rare processes and precision measurements.
Grants & Funding: Supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of High Energy Physics (Award DE-SC0021274).
Advising & Students: Mentors graduate students such as Anil Panta and Saroj Pokharel, and undergraduate researchers like Paul Gebeline and Wil Stacy. Group members focus on topics like proton detection efficiency and branching fraction measurements at Belle II.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Bennett Research Group, collaborating with the global Belle II collaboration (800+ members across 25 countries).
