Jaimy Saif is a Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences at Aston University, affiliated with the Aston Medical School and the College of Health and Life Sciences. Their research focuses on vascular regeneration, including therapeutic angiogenesis and pre-eclampsia. Dr. Saif holds a PhD in Cancer Immunotherapy from Nottingham Trent University and has extensive postdoctoral experience across institutions like Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the University of Nottingham.
Education: PhD (Cancer Immunotherapy, Nottingham Trent University 2014), MSc (Stem Cell Technology, University of Nottingham 2008), BSc (Biotechnology, Bangalore University 2007). Professional qualifications include SFHEA (2024) and MED (2024).
Research interests span vascular biology, microRNA regulation, and translational therapies for ischemic disorders and maternal hypertension. Key projects include investigating hydrogen sulfide-based therapies for preeclampsia and exosome-mediated mechanisms in diabetic vascular complications.
Publications highlight work on stem cell-derived endothelial therapies, BDNF-driven differentiation pathways, and miRNA modulation in cell survival. Their work bridges basic science and clinical applications, aiming to influence medical practice through translational research.
Honors include Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), recognizing contributions to medical education. Dr. Saif leads cardiovascular modules in the MBChB program and oversees Phase I assessments at Aston Medical School.
