Jaime Sims is a faculty member at the Trent/Fleming School of Nursing, Trent University. With over 25 years of nursing experience, her expertise spans Women’s and Children’s Health, Surgical Nursing, Nursing Administration, and Nursing Education. She holds certifications as a Certified Yoga instructor and Reiki practitioner.
Education:
- Diploma in Nursing (Conestoga College)
- BScN (Toronto Metropolitan University, formerly Ryerson)
- MN (Charles Sturt University)
- CCNE (Certified College Nursing Educator)
Research Interests: Focuses on improving nursing education through innovative methods such as Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE), art-based evaluation, and holistic wellbeing strategies. Current projects include exploring self-compassion through meditation and pranayama in nursing practice.
Teaching & Supervision: Currently not accepting graduate students (2023-2024) but may supervise honours thesis students. Active in advancing nursing pedagogy through universal design principles and arts integration.
Personal: Enjoys yoga, pottery, photography, and outdoor activities with family.
