Jaime Arguello is a Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Information and Library Science (SILS). He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and has expertise in information retrieval, machine learning, and aggregated search systems. His research focuses on aggregated search, search assistance for complex tasks, and voice-enabled search. He has received the 2015 NSF CAREER Award and multiple best-paper awards. Arguello teaches courses such as Information Retrieval and Text Mining. His funded projects include grants from NSF totaling nearly $500,000 for search assistance systems and learning-oriented search tools.
