Jailyn Peña

Jailyn Peña is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for Phonetics and Speech Processing (IPS) at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. She completed her PhD in 2023 at New York University's Department of Linguistics under advisor Lisa Davidson, focusing on the Danish phonation contrast. Her research interests include phonetics, phonetics-phonology interface, psycholinguistics, articulatory phonology, and bilingualism, with a focus on laryngeal contrasts and speech production/perception across English, Danish, and Korean.

Research emphasizes experimental approaches to voice quality, speech articulation, and cognitive mechanisms underlying language processing. She investigates how laryngeal features interact with phonological systems and influence bilingual speech production.
