Jahid Khan

Dr. Jahid Khan is a Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales, Faculty of Medicine & Health. His research focuses on epidemiology, public health, and health service utilisation with a particular emphasis on children and young people.

His primary research interests include:

• Epidemiology and Public Health
• Biostatistics and Advanced Quantitative Methodologies
• Social-Spatial Disparities in Health
• Environmental Epidemiology
• Health Service Utilisation for Children and Adolescents

Dr. Khan applies advanced quantitative methodologies in health research, including biostatistical models, machine learning algorithms, and spatial techniques. He has extensive experience working with survey data and large routinely collected administrative records such as electronic medical records.

His notable scientific awards include:

• Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship (2018)
• Young Statistician Award from Dhaka University Statistics Department Alumni Association, Bangladesh (2015)

Dr. Khan has been involved in several significant research grants as a Co-Investigator:

• Providing Enhanced ACcess to Health services (PEACH) funded by Sydney Children's Hospitals Network - NSW Health
• The BestSTART Early Years Lab funded by UNIVERSITY OF NEW SOUTH WALES-RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE SCHEME (RIS)
• Equitable Pathways and Integrated Care in Cerebal Palsy (EPIC-CP) funded by Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF)

He is based at the Medicine & Health building at Level 8, The Bright Alliance, Avoca St, Randwick NSW 2031, and collaborates with multidisciplinary researchers both within Australia and internationally to translate research into practice through multisectoral collaboration.
