Jae Rhim Lee is a Research Fellow at MIT's Program in Art, Culture and Technology within the School of Architecture and Planning. An interdisciplinary artist and designer, her work bridges environmental systems, bioremediation, and human-centered design through projects like the MIT FEMA Trailer Project and Infinity Burial Project.
Her research explores unconventional relationships between the human body and environment through living units, wearables, and decomposition systems. Key methodologies include self-examination, transdisciplinary immersion, and DIY design, focusing on themes of death acceptance, toxin remediation, and sustainable resource cycles.
