Jada Mowatt is a Lecturer in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University at Buffalo's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS). She is also a second-year PhD student in the same department, having completed her B.S. in Chemical Engineering at UB in May 2022. Her roles include teaching EAS 498 Research Methods in summer 2022 and summer 2023, and she currently works as a Community Assistant in Campus Living while serving as President of UB's STEMinism organization.

Jada's research focuses on the interfacial behavior of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at air-water interfaces and their adsorption onto solid surfaces for environmental remediation. She previously studied calcium oxalate crystallization related to kidney stone formation through the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program. Her broader interests include Material Science, Polymer Science, and Biomedical Engineering.
Active in campus leadership since 2019, Jada has held positions such as Orientation Team Leader, Graduate Student Representative on SEAS JEDI Committee, and Dean's office assistant. She aims to pursue industrial R&D roles post-PhD before becoming a professor and completing a post-doctorate.
