Jacqui Gagnon serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting within the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Regina. She holds the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and is recognized as a CPA Research Scholar, reflecting her expertise in accounting scholarship.
Her academic credentials include a PhD in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University (2019), a Master's in Research in Accounting and Financial Management from Lancaster University (2013), CPA certification (2010), and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Regina (2006).
Dr. Gagnon's research program critically examines corporate disclosure frameworks, applies computational linguistics to financial reporting analysis, investigates barriers in banking accessibility, and explores intersections of disability and diversity within financial systems. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges accounting with social justice and technological innovation to address systemic inequities.
She teaches core accounting curriculum including Introduction to Financial Accounting (BUS 285), Managerial Accounting (BUS 288), Intermediate Accounting I/II (BUS 385/387), and advanced courses in Advanced Financial Accounting (BUS 485) and Accounting Theory (BUS 487).
