Jacqueline Urla

Jacqueline Urla is a Professor and Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, affiliated with the Department of Anthropology. Her research focuses on linguistic anthropology, particularly the political dimensions of minority language revitalization and resistance movements. She is renowned for her long-term ethnographic work in the Basque region, examining language activism and the cultural politics surrounding minority languages like Basque, Catalan, and Galician.
