Jacqueline Ross is a Professor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, serving as Violin Tutor in the Strings, Harp & Guitar school and Chamber Music Coach in the Chamber Music department. She holds a GB Guadagnini violin and has been supported by grants from the Dutch Arts Council, British Council, and the London Centre for Arts and Cultural Exchange. Her research focuses on early 19th-century performance practice and historical editions, including a performing edition of Schubert’s Trockne Blumen Variations.
She received an AHRC Visiting Fellowship at Cambridge University for her work on performance style. Ross teaches internationally at institutions like the Juilliard School and Curtis Institute, and adjudicates major violin competitions. Her recordings of Bach’s Sonatas and Schubert’s works have garnered critical acclaim, emphasizing her dual career in performance and scholarship.
Her educational background includes studies at the Juilliard School, Saschko Gawriloff in Germany, and Lucy van Dael in Amsterdam. She collaborates with ensembles like Bell’Arte Antiqua, focusing on English and Italian Baroque repertoire.
