Jacqueline Rodriguez-Stanley is a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Doctoral Candidate in Social-Personality Psychology at Wayne State University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Department of Psychology. Her research focuses on the intersection of psychological stress, socioeconomic status (SES), and health outcomes, with emphasis on health disparities among African American populations and biological stress markers like cortisol and inflammation. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Florida State University (2018) and an M.A. from Wayne State University (2020).
Her work examines how stress appraisal, SES, and cultural factors influence immune and endocrine systems, particularly in marginalized communities. Key topics include rumination's role in health disparities, the impact of discrimination on blood pressure, and the effects of socioeconomic status on cardiometabolic health. She has been awarded the IMSD Fellowship (2018-2020) and Rumble Fellowship (2021-2022).
