Prof Jacqueline Oldham is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Manchester’s Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health (FBMH). She serves as Founder Director of Manchester: Improving Medicine with Innovation and Technology (MIMIT), Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Oxford Road Corridor and Health Innovation Manchester, Chair of St Ann’s Hospice, and a Manchester Global Ambassador. Her academic career includes founding the Centre for Rehabilitation Science and holding leadership roles in national health committees.
Education: BSc (Physiology) from the University of Liverpool (1983), PhD in Musculoskeletal Physiology (1987), and Registered General Nurse qualification (1984). Her research focuses on musculoskeletal rehabilitation, innovation frameworks, and addressing unmet healthcare needs. She has supervised 18 PhDs, 6 MPhils, and 1 MD. Awards include the Medilink Partnership with Academia Award (2019) and Product of the Year award (2018).
Key affiliations include the Manchester Institute for Collaborative Research on Ageing and Digital Futures. Her work contributes to UN SDGs, particularly in advancing health and well-being.
