Jacqueline Lewis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology at the University of Windsor. Her expertise spans crime and deviance, drug policy, healthcare systems, social inequality, and qualitative research methods. She holds a PhD (1994) and MA (1986) from the University of Toronto, alongside a BA (1984) from the same institution.
Her research focuses on intersections of health, law, and public policy, with notable work on death and dying, psychoactive substance use, and sex work stigma. Recent grants include eCampus Ontario course development projects totaling over $146k (2021-22).
Dr. Lewis has received prestigious awards including the University of Windsor Excellence in Scholarship Award (2002) and multiple teaching/research honors (2000). Her publications address topics like restorative justice in sex work contexts, HIV patient engagement through art, and ethical challenges in qualitative research.
