Jacopo Catalano is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering, Aarhus University. His research focuses on electrochemical engineering, materials science, and renewable energy technologies, particularly in areas such as bioinspired nanofilament coatings, electrocatalytic processes, and microbial electrosynthesis.
Key research projects include the MES-MODEL project (2022–2025), developing a mathematical model for microbial electrosynthesis, and the ELHYOs project (2020–2022), exploring electrochemical hydrogenation of bio-crude oil.
