Jacob Siegel, MD is an Assistant Professor in Dermatology at Yale University School of Medicine and serves as Director of Wellness for the Dermatology department. He maintains clinical appointments at Yale Medicine and Yale New Haven Hospital.
Dr. Siegel's educational background includes a BA from Yale College, an MD from Yale School of Medicine, followed by residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital where he served as Chief Resident. He completed his internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
His research program focuses on the intersection of dermatology and immunology, particularly investigating how treatments for psoriasis relate to sarcoidosis development and how cancer immunotherapies impact skin conditions. He has published significant work on bullous disorders associated with PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors and paradoxical sarcoidosis related to IL-17 blockade. His 2024 publication expanded into mental health aspects of dermatology with research on using shame as a signal to discuss suicide.

As Director of Wellness for Dermatology, Dr. Siegel demonstrates commitment to physician well-being alongside his clinical and research responsibilities. His clinical practice focuses on treating various skin disorders including keloids, sebaceous cysts, acne, folliculitis, and milia, and he provides Botox injections for both cosmetic and medical purposes. He is board certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (2021).
Dr. Siegel maintains active involvement with the American Academy of Dermatology as a Fellow since 2022 and collaborates with numerous Yale researchers including Amanda Zubek, Francine Foss, Leonard Milstone, Aarti Bhatia, and Christine Ko.
