معرفی
Jacob Capelle is a researcher at Wageningen Marine Research, part of Wageningen University & Research. His work focuses on marine ecosystems, particularly the sustainability of mussel beds and shellfish aquaculture in dynamic coastal environments such as the Wadden Sea. He investigates climate change impacts, hydrodynamic processes, and human interventions on marine resources.
Education: Completed his PhD in Marine Sciences at Wageningen University (2009–2017).
Research interests include mussel bed stability, aquaculture efficiency, and ecosystem resilience under environmental pressures. His studies often integrate field experiments, modeling, and management strategies to address ecological and economic challenges in coastal zones.
Advising and grants: Serves as co-promotor for PhD candidate M. Buyck in a project on climate adaptation for shellfish culture. Leads the LVVN-funded project LWV24004 investigating mass mortality events in the Oosterschelde.
Labs/Teams: Affiliated with Wageningen Marine Research, collaborating with institutions like NIOZ Royal Institute for Sea Research and HZ University of Applied Sciences.
