Jaclyn Madden

Jaclyn Madden is a Professor of Biology and Biotechnology at Harford Community College, actively participating in the HHMI Science Education Alliance-Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science (SEA-PHAGES) program. She serves as primary instructor for BIO 128: Introduction to Biotechnology, leading in situ phage discovery research using Microbacterium foliorum as the host bacterium.

Her work emphasizes undergraduate research training in phage isolation and characterization.

As a SEA-PHAGES faculty member, she collaborates within a national network advancing genomic education through authentic student research experiences, contributing to program workshops and symposia including the 2025 Phage Discovery Workshop and 2026 SEA Symposium.
