Dr. Jaclyn Fiola is an Assistant Professor of Soil and Environmental Science at Delaware Valley University (DelVal), where she joined in 2023. She teaches courses such as Soils, Soil Chemistry, and Field Soil Morphology, emphasizing experiential learning through fieldwork on DelVal’s farms. Her research focuses on vineyard soils, soil health, and soil carbon, with ongoing projects in soil science instruction. Dr. Fiola advises the Augering Aggies Club, coaches the Soil Judging Team, and mentors Environmental Science students in research and labs.

- B.S. in Plant Sciences and Environmental Science & Technology, University of Maryland
Her research explores soil physical/chemical properties’ impacts on grapevine growth, soil carbon dynamics, and Arctic soils through her adjunct role at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. She actively participates in the Soil Science Society of America and chairs the Pennsylvania State Conservation Commission’s Nutrient Management Advisory Board.
Dr. Fiola’s outreach includes innovative projects like soil painting booths and community education. Her Soil Judging Team achieved national qualification in 2023. She integrates hands-on learning, such as soil texture analysis and field soil morphology studies, into her teaching to prepare students for professional exams and careers.
