Jacky Cresson

Jacky Cresson is a Professor at the University of Pau and the Pays de l'Adour, affiliated with the Laboratory of Mathematics and their Applications (LMAP). He leads the Mathematicum mathematics dissemination group and serves on the board of the College of Science and Technology for Energy and the Environment. His academic journey includes a PhD from Pierre and Marie Curie University and research affiliations with SYRTE and IMCCE at the Paris Observatory.

His research explores dynamical systems, mathematical physics, combinatorics, and fractional calculus, with applications spanning biology, stochastic modeling, and Hamiltonian chaos. Recent publications emphasize fractional variational methods and stochastic embeddings in PDEs.

He has supervised eight PhD students, including Christophe Guillet (Instability of Hamiltonian systems) and Sébastien Darses (Stochastic dynamics). Grant involvement includes projects SAKURA (hyperplane arrangements) and GEOLMI. His lab focuses on dynamical systems and fractional calculus collaborations.
