Jackson Smith serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of History within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oregon, with his office located in 323 McKenzie Hall.
His research specializes in racial capitalism and policing in twentieth-century America, particularly examining systemic enforcement patterns in Black communities. His forthcoming monograph Dirty Capital: Vice Police, Nuisance Property, and the Long War on Drugs in Philadelphia traces vice policing evolution from Prohibition through contemporary drug enforcement in Philadelphia.
