Jack G. Mottley is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences, University of Rochester. He has been at UR since 1986 and has held administrative roles such as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs (1996–2004). His research spans acoustics, haptics, medical device monitoring, and institutional research. He has pioneered projects like the NAVI system using RFID for navigational assistance and filed patents, including a life-saving endotracheal tube monitor.

- Bachelor's from Austin College via the Austin Scholars program
Research interests include nonlinear modeling of organ pipes, tactile feedback in musical performance, and institutional data analysis to optimize student pathways. He is also deeply involved in STEM education outreach through FIRST Robotics and LEGO League initiatives, spearheading regional competitions since 2005.
