Jack D. Ives is Adjunct Professor at Carleton University with expertise in mountain geoecology and sustainable development. Former director of UNU Mountain Ecology programme and editor of Mountain Research and Development, his career spans research across the Himalaya, Andes, and European Alps. Key roles include UN Earth Summit delegate and founder of the International Mountain Society.
