Jack Barentsen

Prof. Dr. Jack Barentsen is Professor of Practical Theology at Evangelische Theologische Faculteit (ETF) Leuven since 2018, and Extraordinary Researcher at North-West University (Potchefstroom, SA). His academic journey spans degrees from Princeton University (B.A. in Philosophy), Grace Theological Seminary (M.Div., Th.M.), and ETF Leuven (Ph.D. in New Testament Studies).

His research focuses on:

• Religious leadership in postmodern contexts
• Church identity formation
• Embodiment theory in theological education
• Social identity applications to faith communities
• Adaptive leadership in polarized environments

Recent publications explore bridge-building leadership, embodied realism, and theological responses to AI. He co-edited volumes on diversity and religious entrepreneurship.
