Jacinta Yelland is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of Theater at the School of Theater, Film and Media Arts. Her work spans performance, creation, and pedagogy in contemporary theatre. She specializes in devised performance and has collaborated with notable ensembles including David Gordon, Quintessence Theatre Group, and Almanac Dance Circus Theatre.
Education:
- MFA in Devised Performance from University of the Arts (led by Pig Iron Theatre Company)
- Bachelor of Creative Industries: Drama from Queensland University of Technology
- Advanced training at École Philippe Gaulier, Paris (supported by Arts Queensland)
Her research interests focus on collaborative creation processes, cross-cultural performance practices, and innovative educational methods in theatre. Projects have been supported by institutions such as the Australia Council for the Arts and the Network of Ensemble Theaters. She maintains active ties to both Australian and Philadelphia-based arts communities through residencies and creative partnerships.
