Jacci Den Hartog is a Professor and Program Director of Sculpture/New Genres at Otis College of Art and Design. She earned her MFA in Sculpture from Claremont Graduate School (1986) and BA in Fine Art from Linfield College (1984). Den Hartog’s career spans over three decades, focusing on material-based sculptures that interrogate landscape representation, ecological ethics, and the interplay between abstraction and narrative.

Her artistic practice bridges post-Minimalist abstraction, feminist critique, and ecological inquiry, often incorporating materials like rubber, latex, and aqua resin to explore themes of urban-extra-urban boundaries, gravity’s influence on form, and temporal dichotomies. Works such as Three Rings (1991) and Gilded Space (2022) exemplify her engagement with material transformation and conceptual landscapes.
