JOUANE Youssef

Youssef JOUANE is an Associate Professor at CESI (France), affiliated with the Engineering and Numerical Tools research team. He holds a Ph.D. in Energy and Materials Sciences (2012, University of Strasbourg) and advanced degrees in Physics and Materials Science. His research focuses on renewable energy systems, particularly photovoltaics, smart building integration, and AI-driven energy management. He teaches across engineering disciplines, including photovoltaics, materials science, and signal processing, at various academic levels (B.Sc. to M.Sc.).

His work integrates artificial intelligence with building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) to optimize energy prediction and decarbonization. Recent studies emphasize deep learning models for short-term energy forecasting and hybrid systems for winter building applications. He co-supervises PhD students at the University of Limoges, Kochi University of Technology (Japan), and the University of Strasbourg.
