Dr. JJ Richardson is a Principal Research Fellow at RMIT University's School of Engineering. He holds a unique academic background with a BA in Philosophy from the University of Florida, an MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida, and a PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Melbourne (ranked top 10 globally). With professional experience across seven countries (USA, Australia, Japan, Korea, China, Belgium, Spain), he specializes in interdisciplinary research at the intersection of nanomaterials and biological systems, focusing on applications in nanomedicine, agriculture, and synthetic biology. His work emphasizes commercialization, leading to multiple spun-out companies and products derived from his research. Notably, he appeared on Shark Tank Australia, securing offers from all five sharks.
