JESUS MARCOS GARCIA ALONSO

JESUS MARCOS GARCIA ALONSO serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electromechanical Engineering at the Higher Polytechnic School of the University of Burgos, specializing in thermal systems and renewable energy technologies.

He earned his Doctorate from the University of Burgos in 2016 with a thesis titled Prototipo y modelización de un sistema híbrido de bomba de calor geotérmica de lazo abierto con almacenamiento de energía de baja temperatura mediante material de cambio de fase para climatización de edificios (Prototype and modeling of an open-loop hybrid geothermal heat pump system with low-temperature energy storage using phase change materials for building conditioning), supervised by Dr. Eduardo Montero García and Dr. Fernando Aguilar Romero.

His research focuses on Renewable Energy integration with emphasis on Thermal Engineering and Building Energy Systems, particularly examining Geothermal, Solar, and Wind Energy applications. As an active member of the SWIFT (Solar and wind feasibility technologies) research group, he develops feasibility frameworks for sustainable energy solutions in building environments, building upon prior work with the iENERGIA Energy Engineering Research Group.

Current investigations within SWIFT explore hybrid renewable energy systems, thermal storage optimization using phase change materials, and energy-efficient building conditioning technologies through experimental prototyping and computational modeling.
