JAVIER GUARDIOLA GARCIA

Javier Guardiola García is a Professor in the Department of Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Valencia. He is affiliated with the Institute of Criminology and Criminal Science (ICCP) and leads research groups EB-CRIM (Evidence-based Criminology) and DPC (Modern trends in Criminal Law and Criminology). His work focuses on juvenile delinquency, gender-based violence, penal sanctions, and restorative justice.

Research Interests: His research explores the evolution of Spanish penal systems, community sanctions, juvenile justice frameworks, victimology in gender violence, and forensic criminology applications. He has extensively analyzed Valencia's juvenile prosecutorial data and Chilean crime prevention policies.

Publications Trends: Recent work examines public lighting's impact on crime reduction in Chile, migration patterns of offenders, and modernized community penalties in Spain. Earlier studies focus on juvenile procedural management, restorative justice mechanisms, and statutory analysis of discrimination aggravations.

Labs/Teams: Co-leads EB-CRIM and DPC research groups, collaborating with the Institute of Criminology and Criminal Science (ICCP) and Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Valencia. His projects include EU-comparative penal reforms and forensic criminology tools.
