معرفی
Prof.dr. J.M.A.M. van Neerven is a Professor in the Analysis group at the Delft University of Technology, within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science. His research bridges functional analysis, operator theory, and their applications to semigroups, spectral theory, and evolution equations.
- Education: Biology and Mathematics at the University of Amsterdam; PhD in Mathematics from Leiden University (1992).
- Grants: KNAW Research Fellowship (1996), NWO Vidi (2000s), NWO Vici (2010s).
- Editorial Roles: Editor-in-chief of Nieuw Archief voor Wiskunde (2012–2018), Indagationes Mathematicae (2019–present).
- Leadership: Member of the Royal Dutch Academy of Arts and Sciences (2024).
His research explores the intersection of functional analysis and operator theory with applications in stochastic evolution equations, harmonic analysis on Banach spaces, and quantum mathematical physics. Recent work includes delayed-choice experiments in quantum foundations and the development of extended operator calculi for spectral theory. Collaborations span Banach spaces, stochastic processes, and spectral methods in mathematical physics.
He has secured prestigious grants from the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and contributed to the field through extensive editorial leadership in mathematics journals. His research output reflects a deep engagement with abstract analysis and its practical implications in theoretical physics.
