J. de Jong is a Lecturer in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) of the University of Twente, where he serves as coordinator of the math line and module coordinator for Mathematical Proof Techniques in the Applied Mathematics bachelor program.
His research and teaching expertise focuses on Game Theory—including congestion games, Nash equilibrium, and price of anarchy—as well as Operations Research and Mathematical Optimization. He delivers bachelor-level courses in Linear Optimization and game theory applications, bridging theoretical concepts with practical economic and organizational contexts like pricing models and social sciences frameworks.
As a core member of the Mathematics of Operations Research (MOR) research group, Dr. de Jong contributes to curriculum development and pedagogical leadership within the Applied Mathematics department, emphasizing structured mathematical proof techniques and optimization methodologies for undergraduate education.
