Prof. J. Christoph Scheytt is a full Professor (W3) at Paderborn University’s Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. He holds a doctorate in Electrical Engineering from Ruhr University Bochum (2000) and has extensive experience in academia and industry. He leads the System and Circuit Technology section at the Heinz Nixdorf Institut and is a founding member of the Institute for Photonic Quantum Systems (PhoQS) and member of the Center for Optoelectronics and Photonics (CeOPP). His research focuses on integrated circuits, photonics, and radar systems.
- Education: Diploma in Electrical Engineering (1995-1995), PhD (2000), Ruhr University Bochum.
- Key Roles: Head of Circuit Design at IHP (2006-2012), co-founder of advICo microelectronics (2000-2006).
Research interests include THz systems, photonic radar, quantum systems, and optoelectronic integration. Current projects involve LiDAR-radar systems, THz transceivers, and quantum communication infrastructure. He teaches courses on silicon photonics, RF IC design, and nanoelectronics.
Recent publications highlight advancements in photonic radar, ultra-low phase noise signal sources, and FMCW lidar systems. His work bridges semiconductor technology with photonics for next-generation communication and sensing applications.
