Associate Professor Işıl Alev is affiliated with Boston College's Department of Business Analytics. She holds a BS from Middle East Technical University (Turkey), and MS/PhD in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on sustainable operations management, including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) policies, product recovery economics, and healthcare operations. She collaborates with industry and public sector stakeholders to bridge policy implementation gaps. Her teaching spans operations management, supply chain, and statistical analysis at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Research Highlights: Avel explores EPR frameworks for durable goods and pharmaceuticals, analyzing economic and policy implications. Her work addresses real-world challenges such as electronics recycling regulations and healthcare supply chain sustainability.
