Iya Petkova

Iya Petkova is an Associate Professor at the Department of Business Administration within the Faculty of Economics at Sofia University. She holds multiple significant administrative roles including Director of the Master's Program 'Business Administration - Human Resources Management' (English-language program) and Administrator of the Master's Program 'Strategic Management'.

Her research expertise spans leadership and business ethics, organizational behavior, crisis management, national and organizational cultures, and project management in the field of art and culture. Dr. Petkova's scholarly work emphasizes ethical leadership practices and effective organizational management in multicultural contexts, with particular attention to crisis response strategies and cultural dimensions of business administration.

Dr. Petkova serves as Coordinator of the doctoral program 3.7 'Administration and Management' and is a Member of the Attestation Committee of the Faculty of Economics. She has extensive project experience as Leading Communications Expert in the SCHOLARNET Project (2020-2023) and Coordinator of the 'Success Stories' section on the faculty website.

Outside academia, she directs the Municipal Cultural Institute Scientific and Educational Children's Center 'MUZEIKO' (since December 2022) and previously led the 'Strategic Development, Marketing, Advertising and Production Activities' Department at the National Palace of Culture - Sofia Congress Center (2015-2019). She also coordinates the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Certification Academy and leads Bulgaria's team in the European Ethics Bowl competition funded by the European Investment Bank Institute.
