معرفی
Iwona Ostolska is a Lecturer at the Department of Radiochemistry and Environmental Chemistry within the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Maria Curie-Skłodowska in Lublin, Poland. She is affiliated with the Institute of Chemical Sciences and maintains active research and teaching responsibilities.
Her research interests focus on radiochemistry and environmental science, particularly the migration and detection of radioactive isotopes in the environment, gamma radiation spectrometry using HPGe detectors, effects of ionizing radiation on living organisms, and detection of beta-emitting isotopes. Her work spans both natural and anthropogenic radioactive sources with applications in environmental and industrial measurements.
Dr. Ostolska has secured significant research funding including a 2024 Ministry of Science project (2 million PLN) for beta radiation spectrometry equipment, a 2022 MEiN project (1.1 million PLN) for gamma radiation spectrometers, and a 2018 NCN Miniatura 2 grant on radionuclide adsorption on waste materials.
She serves as academic supervisor for third-year undergraduate students in Chemistry with specialization in Basic and Applied Chemistry since 2018 and holds regular consultations at the Department of Radiochemistry and Environmental Chemistry.
