Iwona Gajda

Dr. Iwona Gajda is a Senior Lecturer in Engineering and Project Management at the University of the West of England, affiliated with the College of Arts, Technology and Environment’s School of Engineering and the Department of Engineering, Design and Mathematics. Her research is primarily conducted at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL).

Her research spans environmental engineering, sustainability, and green technology, with specialization in:

• Resource recovery from waste streams
• Microbial fuel cells and bioelectrochemical systems
• Bioenergy generation and circular economy solutions
• Technology implementation across development phases

She employs multidisciplinary approaches bridging biology, electrochemistry, and engineering.
