Prof. Iwnetim Abate is the Chipman Career Development Professor and an Assistant Professor in MIT's Department of Materials Science and Engineering. His research focuses on electrochemistry, quantum materials, and sustainable energy solutions. He holds a PhD from Stanford University and completed postdoctoral training at UC Berkeley. His lab develops materials for decarbonization, energy storage, and mining technologies using cutting-edge synthesis, characterization, and AI-driven methods.
