Ivana Živić is a full professor at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, specializing in the morphology, systematics, and phylogeny of aquatic invertebrates. Her research spans taxonomy, ecology, and conservation of inland waters, with a focus on macrozoobenthos in river ecosystems.
- Completed primary and secondary education in Leskovac
- Biology graduate (1996), Master's (2000), and PhD (2005) from the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade
Her career at the Faculty of Biology progressed from Trainee Assistant (1998–2000) to Assistant Professor (2006–2012), Associate Professor (2013–2018), and Full Professor (since 2019). She has contributed to projects like PROJECT JADAR, analyzing environmental impacts of mining on wildlife and human health.
Her work includes studying the role of invertebrates in freshwater fish diets, monitoring trout pond impacts on benthic communities, and physiological biomarkers (oxidative stress enzymes) in aquatic species. She is affiliated with the Institute of Zoology at the Faculty of Biology.
