PhDr. Ivan Rynda (Assistant Professor) is affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities at Charles University, where he leads the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology. He has served as Deputy Director of the Centre for Environmental Scholarship since 1992 and held visiting fellowships at Cambridge University and the Global Security Programme.

His research focuses on environmental scholarship, sustainable development, and social/cultural anthropology, informed by interdisciplinary collaborations in ecology, policy, and cultural studies. Awards include the 2002 Josef Vavroušek award for environmental contributions.
Rynda has held key roles in Czech national environmental governance, including advisory positions at the Ministry of Agriculture and leadership in the Society for Sustainable Living. He also contributes to editorial and scientific boards for ecology and landscape research institutions.
