معرفی
Prof. Dr. Ivan Kisel is a Fellow at the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS) since 2012. He holds a Professorship in Computer Science and specializes in developing parallel algorithms for high-energy physics experiments. His research focuses on track and particle reconstruction using Cellular Automaton and Kalman Filter methods, optimized for multi-core CPUs and GPUs. He leads a team of researchers and PhD students working on projects such as the CBM (FAIR), ALICE (CERN), STAR (RHIC), and PANDA experiments.
Education:
- PhD from Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR, Dubna)
- Doctorate from Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg
Research Interests: Parallel computing, real-time collision topology reconstruction, short-lived particle detection, and algorithm optimization for modern hardware architectures. His KF Particle package and Cellular Automaton Track Finder are widely used in particle physics experiments.
Teaching: Prof. Kisel teaches High Performance Computing (HPC) at Goethe University, focusing on parallel programming, vectorization, and GPU acceleration using C++, OpenMP, OpenCL, and CUDA.
