Dr. Ivan Kapitonov is affiliated with the Department of Linguistics at the University of Cologne. His research focuses on syntax, formal semantics, and morphosyntax with specialization in Australian languages (particularly Gunwinyguan) and Northwest Caucasian languages. He has conducted extensive fieldwork on Kunbarlang, an Australian Aboriginal language, resulting in a comprehensive grammar published by De Gruyter Mouton. His work explores topics like partitive disanaphors, quantification, and measurement-theoretic typology of adjectives.
