Ivalina Kalcheva, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Texas at San Antonio's Carlos Alvarez College of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Utah, an MBA from Saginaw Valley State University, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Economics in Varna, Bulgaria. Her expertise spans corporate finance, asset pricing, market microstructure, tax policy, and institutional investing.
Dr. Kalcheva's research focuses on topics such as tax policy impacts, institutional investment dynamics, short-selling behavior, economic policy uncertainty, and genetic influences on financial decision-making. Her work has been published in top-tier journals like Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and Review of Financial Studies.
Her recent studies analyze the effects of tax reforms (e.g., 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act), institutional investor behavior, and the interplay between policy uncertainty and consumer choices.
